Who’s on your team?
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” - Proverbs 27:17
One of the first things Jesus did in His earthly ministry was to recruit the 12 apostles—a tight-knit group of men who would travel with Him, minister with Him, learn from Him, and with time, become like Him.
As a Jewish rabbi, calling followers would have been standard operating procedure.
But through the stories of Jesus and His disciples, we also get a beautiful portrait of what it looks like for men to be in authentic community.
All men need a team: an intentional group of guys who have each other’s back and are committed to encouraging each other, getting real with each other, and traveling through life’s highs and lows together.
Who’s on your team?
Do you experience any resistance when you think about creating a community like Jesus’s?
What might you need to let go of to get real and vulnerable with other guys?
