When life hits you in the face

"And he said, ‘My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’” - Exodus 33:14

Has life ever hit you in the face? I mean, really knocked the wind out of you? 

Maybe it was a phone call with devastating news, a business failure, or a heartbreaking diagnosis. If you haven’t experienced this yet, I gently suggest that you likely will at some point. 

Life has a way of throwing curveballs when we least expect them.

When life hits us in the face, it can cause us to question many of our previously held ideals, notions, and beliefs.

Yes, it can be disorienting and painful—but it can also be one of the most powerful invitations into a deeper intimacy with God.

Life’s unpredictable moments remind me that my spiritual journey is about so much more than just accumulating knowledge about God. 

They remind me that I need healing, and I need Jesus…Jesus as a person, as the God who meets me in the depths of my story, in the dark nights of my soul, with a hope that transcends my understanding.

Your story, even the chapters that feel dark and hopeless, matters. 

It’s in these dark chapters of your life that Jesus can shine the brightest, revealing His power to bring beauty from ashes and hope from despair.
