Seeing our story in light of God’s goodness
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” - 2 Corinthians 4:7–9
Every man’s story is part of a much bigger narrative—one that begins in the Garden of Eden. It’s a story of creation, where life was formed from dust and an intimate connection with our Creator was established.
Yet, it’s also a story of brokenness, where sin and suffering have left deep scars on the world.
We can see this brokenness everywhere we look. And if we’re honest, we can feel it within ourselves, too. Scripture reminds us that we are like jars of clay, fragile and breakable.
As men, we often carry the burden of appearing strong, having all the answers, and never showing weakness. But Paul reminds us that it’s in our weakness—our brokenness and fragility—that God’s strength shines brightest, we carry the treasure of His all-surpassing power in us.
When you pursue daily renewal in Christ, your brokenness becomes the very space where God’s love can reach you most powerfully.
So today, if you feel worn out, unfinished, or broken, take heart. You are not alone. You are deeply loved by a God who specializes in restoring broken stories.
