He restores my soul
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.” - Psalm 23:1-3a
There comes a point in all of our lives where our own strength runs out.
Maybe you’re walking through a job loss, an illness, a divorce.
Or maybe you’re just tired—the kind of soul tired that sleep alone won’t fix—from trying to keep up and be everything to everyone in a world that rewards performance over presence.
Reaching the end of your strength is not failure—it’s an invitation.
An invitation to stop pretending we are totally self-sufficient.
An invitation to look beyond the roles we use to define ourselves—husband, father, professional—and see ourselves for who we truly are: a man made in God’s image who is loved unconditionally by Him.
An invitation to stop white-knuckling our way through life, but instead surrender and let God restore our souls.
Jesus doesn’t offer us another life hack, productivity trick, or energy boost. He offers us deep soul rest and abundant life that can only come from remembering who we truly are in Him.
What’s making you weary today?
Are you trying to fix it through your own strength?
What if Jesus offers something better than strength…what if He offers true inner restoration and healing from everything that steals your joy?
