Feeling out of control
“Be still, and know that I am God.” - Psalm 46:10a
You know that feeling when you’re driving, hands on the steering wheel, eyes locked on the road ahead?
There’s something reassuring about being the one in control—setting the pace, choosing the direction, deciding when to speed up or slow down.
We like control. It can make us feel safe. Predictable. Powerful.
But it’s also one of the biggest traps we can fall into as men.
Since we’re not actually in control, clinging to it can create fear, anxiety, and exhaustion from the constant resistance and striving.
The truth is, we were never meant to carry the full weight of our lives alone. That’s God’s job.
God doesn’t ask us to have it all figured out. He asks us to trust Him with the parts we can’t fix, understand, or manage. He invites us to loosen our grip and open our hands.
What if letting go isn’t weakness? What if learning to let go is strength?
What if surrender is the most courageous thing you can do today?
