Embrace life’s challenges
“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,” - Romans 5:3-4
No one wants to experience pain or adversity.
But the challenges and sufferings we face are often the most spiritually formative experiences of our lives.
They can reveal our character, build resilience, and bring spiritual and emotional freedom by drawing us deeper into our souls and into the presence of God.
The temptation we all face is to numb out instead of facing these challenges head-on. Whether through food, excessive alcohol, work, sex, mindless scrolling, or even healthy pursuits that become compulsions, when we try to escape discomfort, we can miss out on its gift.
Loss and suffering are part of life. Jesus promised His disciples that this life isn’t always going to be easy, that there will be tribulation.
What current challenges or sufferings in your life could be an invitation for you to trust God more deeply and to let Him grow your endurance, character and hope?
