“Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.” - Matthew 5:37

We live in a world full of overpromising and underdelivering. Ghosted texts. Missed commitments. Last-minute cancellations.

It’s easy to fall into the trap ourselves—saying what sounds good in the moment, without thinking about what it really costs.

But our words matter.

As men, integrity starts not in the big, dramatic moments, but in the quiet ones.

Do we show up when we say we will?
Do we follow through even when it’s inconvenient?
Do we speak truth even when it costs us?

Being a man of your word means your character isn’t conditional. It means people don’t have to wonder if you’re trustworthy—they know.

And it’s not just about reputation. It’s about reflecting the character of God. He is faithful. Steady. True to His word. And if we’re made in His image, we’re called to live that way too.

Perfection isn’t the goal, but consistency is something worth aiming for.

Does your “yes” mean something?

Is your “no” clear?

Is your word a foundation others can build on?
